Dr Scholls - you suck
Really, I spent friggin $49 for your fancy dancy orthotics for my poor aching feet. My heels feel like I'm walking on burning glass. So, I go to the local wally-world and get on that fancy shmancy Dr Sholls machine thing, look like a dink rocking back and forth, picking up one foot and putting it down, picking up the other foot and putting it down. Then it tells me I need some specific orthotic. Okie dokie. It's less expensive than the orthotics I got years ago from the podiatrist. Plantar Faciitis. It felt different 15 years ago, but ok, anything to take the pressure off my heels. I take my happy purchase home and OH MY FRIGGIN LORD. THEY ARE WIDER THAN ANY FRIGGIN PAIR OF SHOES I OWN. So I cram them in a pair, and MY HEELS ARE NOW ABOVE THE TOP EDGE OF THE SHOES. Seriously? I cannot wear them in ANY of my work shoes. Ok, so this may be my fault - I like little ballet like girly girl shoes - I cannot wear chunky shoes, or doc martens, or anything that resembles and army boot or something my grandmother would have worn in 1898. I like girly girl shoes. Like "Dorothy" shoes - pumps with pretty bows on them, pretty colored shoes, pointy toes, etc. I also have a narrow foot. These friggin things are wider than my feet and cannot be cut down. ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH. Can't they make orthotics that actually fit real women's shoes? My feet are not SQUARE. The orthotics are.

Had to laugh at this, because my feet almost *are* square -- 6.5D. And I can't wear girly shoes because they're too narrow! :-D
But personally, I've never found Dr. Scholls footwear to be comfortable for me. Never tried the orthotics. I have two pairs of pricey orthotics that I wore for a number of years--which gave me knee and leg pain. Stopped wearing the orthoticsa year and a half ago and the knee/leg pain went away...but my feet hurt more. LOL. Can't win!
And I don't do the girlie shoes!
Are you a 8.5 or 9?
I'll send mine!
Your feet are not square? Woman, you crack me up! srsly.
I bought a pair last year...they sucked. They fit in my shoes, but they were horrible. And for $50, I expect HOT horrible.
Oh Honey , I hear ya ! SU works for a compamy called Hanger and that is what they make amongst other things. He has to wear orthotics because he pronates both ankles ....and we got to buy ALL new shoes for him..including golf shoes that OMG.. $$$$ . I hear ya , I really do.
The fellow shoe freak is waving >

yes but you also don't have one long toe in the middle (pointy toed shoes) right? if the pain is bad enough i'd seriously get some shoes that work with them. what about tennis shoes? would they be an answer honey? hope you feel better soon. sore feet suck.

I used to wear girlie shoes until I went to work in the OR. Now, my feet are shot-my knees, too. So, no more girlie shoes for me. My sister, also a nurse, had a severe bout of plantar fasciitis recently, and she asked one of the ortho docs on the unit (Medical ICU) what would help and he told her to wear a pair of support stockings, knee length, and change her shoes every four hours. She also used Activ-ON on the bottoms of her feet before bed and the pain improved vastly after a couple of days of that. She still uses the support knee-hi's and has two pair of shoes for each 12 hour shift.

P. S.-Dr. Scholls is a hack.
::grin::
You might want to consider ordering some custom orthotics here or here.
Try some called Superfeet. My doc had me use these and remove the one that was already in my tennis shoes. They also have ones for dress shoes I believe. good luck!
